The boys go to France: Part I

Well, heres the first proper post, and as its a big un I’ve broken it down into a few posts.

We decided to go camping in France for two weeks. I’ve been before and it has a lot going for it, cheap beer and wine, nice beaches, good food and cheap beer!

We were pretty prepared this time (last two times Tony slept in the car cos his tent fell down…) and got ourselves a tent, ferry tickets, a map or two and some anti-diarrhea tablets…

We had to do it properly though so we didn’t bother booking a camp site or even deciding on a town to go to. We set off (two hours late cos Clint needed a shower) and caught the ferry. We got to France and drove down through the night. As it turned out we ended up near Royan on the south west coast. I used to go down there with my Mum and Dad so knew the way round the town and where to find stuff. We got a camp site that was fairly cheap and set up the tent.

Compared to other drives to France I’ve done, it went fairly smoothly. I went through this fairly quickly cos it’s basically boring – but you have to set the scene! (maybe I WAS paying attention in English Literature)

From here on in, it was a bit more ‘interesting’. More soon…
