So, what’s been going on recently
Well after the last couple of weeks of baby sitting during the day and not going to work (which has been awesome) it’s been a bit quiet of late. Last week though we’ve been looking at houses so Kirsty and Lucie can have a place of their own and move out of the loft at her parent’s. On Thursday she picked up the keys so we spent the entire weekend moving stuff in, building furniture, hooking up appliances and painting & decorating.
Now that Lucie is on the verge of crawling, we set up the travel cot so that we could use it as a big play pen. Although she can’t crawl very far at the moment, she’s pretty good at going backwards, doing circles and forward dives so having somewhere where she was safe was a good thing while we were busy doing stuff. She was quite happy in there with her toys as long as she knew where we were and we gave her a bit of attention every now and again.
Hopefully we should get everything sorted this week and get moved in properly.
Plus, here’s some more photos:
First day on our own
Today I’ve got Lucie for the day all on our own. I’ve been a bit worried about this for a while but so far we’re coping quite well.
She had a little sleep and then I gave her a bottle when she woke up so I think I’m starting to get a bit better at figuring out what she wants and when. I’m not as good as Kirsty who can tell what’s she wants by the different types of crying she does but I’m getting there.
After her bottle she was crying a bit still so I checked her nappy which was OK so I went on to plan B: give her a chocolate biscuit and put Top Gear on. Since we’re up at my parents while they are on holiday, we’ve set up camp in the living room and I’ve put the old duvet on the floor for her to play on. So far it’s got chocolate and sick on it so I’ll be hiding from my mum when she gets home.
The only worrying thing is she seems to love the advert for “Sheila’s Wheels”. Odd child
