Our usual Sunday routine consists of doing something in the morning and then about mid-afternoon I make a start on the Sunday roast – this week chicken. I really make an effort too – roasties, swede, carrots, stuffing, Yorkshire puddings, leaks in cheese sauce and a bottle of wine and a few pints of home brew.
Usually, Lucie, our three year old wants to help so she grabs her chair and stands on it in the kitchen helping me peel, chop, mix etc. This week was no exception and after a couple of hours everything was ready. I dished everything up, shouted everyone down to the table and went to sit down at the table. As I did I let one off.
Kirsty said “Wellsy, not at the dinner table!”.
Lucie picked up her fork and engrossed in what was on her plate said “Mummy, that’s what boys do.”
Priceless.
