Someone crashed into the back of my car! And lost…

As mentioned previously I used to have a brand new Ford Focus and about a year ago I slip on an ice patch and smashed up the plastic bumper and the headlight. I fixed it myself and it was only £80 to get a new sprayed bumper from eBay. They’re good and cheap these plastic bumpers and supposedly kind to pedestrians – they go through the thin plastic bumper and are stopped by the good solid engine block instead – Health and Safety – go figure!

Anyway, back to today. I was coming around a round-a-bout on the way home and some dick in a lorry had pulled out when he didn’t have room and that meant that about four cars in front of me turning right had to slam on the breaks – unfortunately the guy behind wasn’t quick enough and ran into the back of me. It wasn’t a big crash, no tickling of glass or anything so we waited for the cock in the lorry to move and got off the round-a-bout and pulled over for a look.

He was driving an ’53 plate Focus (I think – it was dark) and the crash had smashed up hid health and safety bumper and cracked one of his headlights (seems to be standard in a crash). I looked at mine and since I had a 15 year old BMW 3-series I have the older plastic bumpers. Damage to mine: some mud had fallen off the bumper – I may have to clean my car to make it look even.

I’m not convinced cars are getting better
